Mr. P's Ring

Yesterday I bought Mr. P his wedding ring! We had been looking for a while and finally found a fantastic deal we couldn't pass. It also helped that the ring was the best looking one we had found :-) Mr. P wanted tungsten. It's an extreeeeeemely hard metal and is really heavy. Mr. P wanted something heavy duty. If you know him, then you'll know he loves his toys and does his research on anything manly. His ring was no exception.

The polished tungsten ring has a sterling silver inlay. It's perfect for him! He was with me when I bought it so I'm not spoiling any surprise.

Here is a picture:

It's nice to know that the important things of the wedding are taken care of! Also this weekend I picked out my accesories for my dress. Stay tuned for more wedding news :-)

Let them eat cake!!

Sorry it's been a while. Work is starting to get busy and I've decided to start a new workout regimine! Yay for working out every day this week so far.

Mr. P and I have picked out our wedding cake flavors. The tasting was a blast and really good! I had a work meeting after the tasting and I was on a sugar high--going 100 mph! I think our guests are really going to like the cake.

We are still trying to decide on cake toppers. Today I found a zombie cake topper. I think Mr. P will like that :-)

That's all for now. I'll be posting again soon.

Busy Political Day in Colorado

Happy Election Day! The best part of today, aside from having the right to vote, is all the horrible political ads will be done by tomorrow!!! Woo Hooo! Today is celebrated by many, but just causes me stress and anxiety. I'm not even going to watch the results tonight. Instead, I'm going to a beer tasting.

Colorado is one of the most targeted states in the nation and that means we have a lot of out-of-state funding putting horrible ads on TV and radio. I'm glad they will be over. I'm also anxious to find out what our state legislature will look like. It's a little uncomfortable not knowing what my job will look like and my success is totally in the hands of the Colorado voter. Working on campaigns for several years really has me really freaked out. No offense, but the average voter doesn't understand what they are voting for. I could go on and on and on and on about my elitist views on direct democracy, but I'll spare you on this post.

Another important story which isn't getting much news is Governor Ritter addressed our $1.1Billion shortfall in his FY 11-12 budget. I haven't been able to see all the different department's documents yet, but it's not looking good for Higher Education, k-12, or health care so far. This brings me to my next issue: Who in their right mind wants to be Governor of a state where you have to cut Billions of dollars from the already slim budget?!?!?! Please God, please don't let it be Tom Tancredo. I might have to move, or at least find a new job if he's elected. I can't even wrap my head around the idea and it's making my physically sick.

It's almost 3 in the afternoon and I think it's time for me to get back to summarizing the Millions of dollars worth of cuts to our state.
